Charity Sponsorship
At the October 2004 SIAS AGM we announced the introduction of a new initiative to use some of our surplus funds to provide matching of sponsorship monies raised by our members for charitable causes (e.g. money raised through fun runs, marathons etc).
In summary, any member SIAS member or team of SIAS members will be able to apply to SIAS for a donation to their charity. The donation will be equivalent to 25% of sponsorship monies raised by the SIAS member, with a maximum donation of £500. The donation will be increased to 50% of sponsorship monies raised for team applications where members of the team are from more than one employer.
We believe this initiative will provide support to SIAS members in getting involved in charitable events and encourage integration of members between different employers.

Full details of sponsorship initiative
The maximum amount of donations in any SIAS accounting year (1 July to 30 June) will be £10,000. This limit will be reviewed periodically by the Committee. Donations will be made until the annual amount is exhausted on a first come first served basis.
The donation will be equal to 25% of sponsorship monies raised by a SIAS member, with a maximum donation of £500. This will be increased to 50% of sponsorship monies raised where the fundraising team is made up of SIAS members from more than one employer.
All applications must be in writing with supporting documentation. Support for a particular event/activity/charity will be subject to the discretion of the SIAS committee, and the committee's decision is final.
