Solvency II Internal Model Approval Process (IMAP) - Challenges for GI Actuaries

Tuesday 10 August 2010 at 18:00
Staple Inn

The Internal Model Approval Process for Solvency II presents a number of practical challenges for non-life actuaries. For example, how can we demonstrate that the Use Test has been met, or that Expert Judgement has been applied appropriately? How are the requirements for Profit & Loss Attribution, Risk Ranking, Documentation likely to be interpreted by GI insurers?

There is no need to register in advance for this event. Refreshments will be available from 5:30pm for a 6pm start. Following the meeting there will be a free drink and buffet at a nearby pub.

At this session, the GIRO working party on IMAP will present its interim results in these areas, including discussion points arising from face-face interviews with a range of insurers, the results of our recent electronic survey on insurers plans for use of internal models. We will also give some of our own views on how these challenges can be met.
